Frijoles and Frescas Grilled Tacos in Las Vegas has taken a late night break-in at their restaurant and turned it into a hilarious ad, social media sensation, and crime-stoppers PSA.

Using security footage from the night of the break-in (and a little bit of their sizzle reel), they’ve created an ad you cannot turn off. There’s praise for their tacos every few seconds, and the whole robbery takes less than 2 minutes, but these burglars have gifted the business a hilarious narrative with their ineptitude.

Watch this.

And the video is soaring on YouTube, with views past the 3 million mark and over 1000 comments. And people aren’t just entertained, they’ve begun to empathize with the burglar’s implied craving for tacos.

(They do look seriously delicious in the food footage.)

Now *we* want tacos.

Probably the best ad they’ve ever had.

Total cost?

  • 1 Broken Rear Glass Door.
  • 1 (possibly) Cracked Front Window.
  • 2 Cash Registers.
  • Whatever the price of running a security camera all night is.
  • The time it took to clip it all together.

Your actors are free, have natural comedic timing, and they do all their own stunts. The music is provided, probably free of charge, by the ever generous Kevin MacLeod over at Incompetech. The most expensive part of this whole ad is the 20 seconds of taco glamour shots the company probably already had sitting in their media file.

That being said, they did get robbed, so if you have any information…

If you know something, say something.
