Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen – Lost in the Ozone

Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen was a rock band formed in 1967 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. They gained a following for their blend of country, blues, boogie-woogie, and rock and roll. The band was known for their eccentric attire, including cowboy hats and western wear.

Their debut album, Lost in the Ozone, was released in 1971 and included the hit single “Hot Rod Lincoln.” The song went on to become their signature tune and a classic of the rockabilly genre. Despite never achieving mainstream success, the band remained popular with a loyal following throughout the 1970s. They continued to tour and release albums until their breakup in 1979.

Today, Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen are remembered as pioneers of the country-rock and rockabilly genres, and their music remains influential to this day.
