Francois Boucher – Boucher, Peintures Vol I & II – A Catalog Raisonne

The two volumes form an extensive chronical of Boucher’s life and work and present a catalog raisonne of the Rococo style artist Francois Boucher (1703-1770)the favourite French Rococo Painter of Louis XV and his court.  A chronological record begins Volume one. Boucher’s birth, texts of letters, references and reviews. The balance of Vol I and the the majority of Vol II are devoted to the “Catalogue des Peintures.” Each entry includes the origin, provenance, bibliography, and exhibition of the piece. Volume II includes a bibliography and index. We have one Hardcover copy  purchased at The Architectural Association of London Bookshop in the early 1980’s It has been barely touched since then and is in very good/near fine condition.  A  light gray cloth, with gilt letters on spines & front covers; off-white & illus. dust jackets. 782 pp., 1798 BW illus. 16 color plates.
