Hot Tuna – First Pull Up, Then Pull Down
Hot Tuna is an American blues-rock band formed in 1969 by members of Jefferson Airplane – guitarist Jorma Kaukonen and bassist Jack Casady. Their music style is characterized by a mix of blues, folk, and rock. They have released numerous albums and continue to tour to this day.
Their album ‘First Pull Up, Then Pull Down’ was released in 1971 and is considered a classic of the band’s repertoire. The album features Kaukonen’s virtuosic acoustic guitar work and Casady’s grooving bass lines, with a few guest musicians adding a touch of electric instrumentation. The album’s highlight songs include “Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning,” “Come Back Baby,” and “Candy Man.”
