John Wyer was a successful racing team manager who was associated with Aston Martin Racing in the late 1950s and early 1960s. During his tenure at Aston Martin, he achieved great success and led the team to two consecutive victories in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race with the iconic Aston Martin DBR1 race car in 1959 and 1960. He also managed the Ford GT40 team that won the race from 1966 to 1969. Additionally, he played a significant role in the development of the Porsche 917, which won Le Mans in 1970 and 1971. Wyer is regarded as one of the most successful and influential team managers in motorsport history.
